New Poetry in The Puritan

I have a new three section poem in the new issue of The Puritan which just came out today. You can check it out here. There is also an audio recording of me reading the poem. You can also listen to the audio here.

I was interviewed for The Puritan's blog, The Town Crier, about the process of writing the piece. I'll let you know when that comes out.

9/14/2013

I've been feeling a little better the last couple of days. I hope this continues. Yesterday, for about an hour, I felt almost peppy.

Issue Six of Dressing Room Poetry Journal will be out soon. Speaking of Dressing Room Poetry Journal, I have some exciting contributor news. Terry Godbey, Cristin O'Keefe Aptowicz, and Valerie Wetlaufer all have books coming out in the next year that include poems that originally appeared in the journal. So you can get a taste of their forthcoming books by reading their poems in Dressing Room Poetry Journal and then you can pre-order their books/find out more info here and here and here.

Update (9/20/2013):
Dressing Room Poetry Journal contributor Sarah Cortez is editing Goodbye, Mexico: Poems of Remembrance, an anthology forthcoming from Texas Review Press. You can see the info for submissions including the deadline here.

Update (10/4/2013):
Exciting news from another Dressing Room Poetry Journal contributor! Sara Biggs Chaney has published a new chapbook of poems. You can find out more info and order a copy here. All royalties for this collection will be donated to the Autistic Self Advocacy Network.

My brother is engaged! Congratulations Alec and Miranda! The proposal happened yesterday. I wish I could be there to celebrate with them. They are currently living in Austin, Texas where they have been the last couple of years. They will be moving to the Des Moines area in Iowa in two or three weeks.

I found out that the third issue of The Alarmist which includes a poem of mine will be on sale in the UK and Europe starting in mid-September. It will be available internationally starting in October.

The day the issue launches there will be a release party in London.

It looks like it will be a great event! I would love to attend, but I will be in northeast Ohio. Sigh.

Anyway, Happy Labor Day Weekend!

P.S. Just found out The Alarmist is now available in over 200 stores internationally and you can also order it online.

P.P.S. I don't have a facebook account or a twitter account. I have this blog and my website. Just sayin'. Some people have asked. And you know... Beware of the catfishing epidemic.

I'm feeling a bit better! I'm still experiencing some physical pain and I definitely still need to rest more than usual, but I'm glad I'm improving.
