Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I got my hair cut for Thanksgiving. I don't think it has been this short since the mid-90's. It feels really good. Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

New Video & VoteVoteVote & Books I'm Reading

Thank you to Vine Leaves Press for this new The Crimes of Clara Turlington video. I'm not sure what the quality of the video will be like on this blog when I post it below. You can also watch it here or here.

I voted early. Have you voted yet? Vote!

Right now I'm reading Baby, I Don't Care by Chelsey Minnis and Nicole Chung's All You Can Ever Know. I'm really enjoying them both so far.

I keep forgetting to say that a few months ago (four? five?) I read Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now by Jaron Lanier. It's one of those books that I think everyone should read.

Current Reads

I'm really excited about the books I'm reading right now.

You Play the Girl

Sharp

The House of Impossible Beauties

2666

So far, I recommend reading all of them.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do with my hair for the summer. Right now, it's really long, and the ends are unintentionally lighter. I was trying to get a clear photo of the length and the ends. Wasn't attempting to look angsty with my head tilted. No filter. I am that pale right now.

Poetry in Sprung Formal

I have a poem in the new issue of Sprung Formal: The Kansas City Art Institute's Literary Journal. Issue XIII is really fun, and even has a poem by Mark Leidner. I've been a fan of Leidner's work since undergrad. I remember being really pumped up about the poem "Charismatic Ambulance Driver." I wish I could have bottled that baby poet excitement so I could douse myself with it now.

The issue is in print and online. You can read it online here. Here's a sneak peak of the print version.

There is a release event tonight in Kansas City.

The Sprung Formal editors are also charismatic ambulance drivers.

In other news, a poem of mine is being translated for the journal Gard. It will be the third time my poetry has been translated into/published in Turkish.

I've also had a few pieces of writing published this year that I haven't shared on this blog because the overall project is its own thing. Just thought I'd mention it because I haven't posted on this blog in a few months.

New Interview Out

I answered some questions for Vending Machine Press this fall, and the interview came out last week. You can read it here.
